Event Waiver

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK & RESPONSIBILITY

I, the undersigned, wish to participate in the Learn to Row program at Maroochy River Rowing Club. I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Swimming Competency:
- I confirm that I am capable of swimming 100 metres fully clothed in the event of an emergency.
Assumption of Risk:
- I understand that rowing and water sports involve inherent risks, including but not limited to capsizing, collision, physical exertion, exposure to changing weather conditions, and potential injuries such as muscle strain, sprains, bruises, or more serious harm.
- I acknowledge that the club, its coaches, volunteers, and members will take all reasonable precautions for my safety but cannot eliminate all risks associated with the sport.
Medical Fitness & Responsibility:
- I certify that I am physically and medically fit to participate in this program.
- I will inform coaches of any relevant medical conditions that could affect my ability to row safely.
- In the event of an emergency, I consent to medical treatment as deemed necessary by club representatives, and I understand that I am responsible for any associated medical costs.
Personal Responsibility & Conduct:
- I will follow all instructions given by the coaches and safety personnel.
- I will wear appropriate rowing attire, sun protection, and footwear for land training.
- I understand that disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in my removal from the program without a refund.
Liability Release:
- I release Maroochy River Rowing Club, its members, coaches, volunteers, and representatives from any liability for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property arising from my participation in this event.
- I accept full responsibility for any risks associated with my participation, including transportation to and from the event.
Photography & Media Consent (Optional):
- I give permission for photos/videos taken during the program to be used by Maroochy River Rowing Club for promotional purposes (website, social media, newsletters).
