Oar What! Squad
Oar What! is Maroochy River Rowing Club’s junior boys development squad — made up of rowers taking their exciting first steps into competitive rowing.
This squad is designed for young athletes who are building their skills, learning to work as a crew, and discovering the thrill of racing. Training focuses on developing strong technical foundations, building fitness, and fostering a team-first attitude that sets them up for future success in rowing.
Program Structure:

On-Water Training: 2–3 sessions per week, focusing on basic technique, rhythm, race starts, and crew skills.

Off-Water Training: 1–2 sessions per week, incorporating age-appropriate fitness, strength, and mobility work.

Competition Focus: Local regattas, school events, and club mini-regattas to gain valuable race experience.

Expectations:
